Collage
What I love about collage is that when you put one thing next to another thing—especially when it’s only a part of thing next to another thing—the viewer can’t help but create a connection between those things themselves, making a whole new thing. The viewer is as much a part of the collage as the cutout bits on the surface, bringing in their POV, history, opinion. It’s Rashomon with a glue stick and faded magazine.
